That same year, she won a L\u2019Or\u00e9al-UNESCO&nbsp;<em>For Women in Science<\/em>&nbsp;research grant, and in 2022 she was awarded a Seal of Excellence by the European Commission. Her research focuses on bioarchaeology, reconstructing health in the past, the bioarchaeology of women, diachronic perspectives on health, exploring past experiences of care and disability, as well as the history of diseases and medicine. Her PhD focused on forensic taphonomy and natural sciences applied to forensic research. She focused on the analysis of individuals and the interpretation of the archaeological, historical, and social environment of funerary contexts, integrating the perspective of bioarchaeology of care, investigating care relationships in communities of the past. She investigated demography and health status, integrating historical and archaeological data.
